    Thank you for joining me here at The Hair of the Dog, a blog for sharing business and marketing tips specific to the pet photography niche. In order to be successful in a pet photography business, or any photography business, it must be treated first and foremost as a business. I have created this resource to share tips and tricks to help you create a sustainable (ie. profitable) photography business, as well as share some inspiration along the way. The pet niche of professional photography has exploded in the past few years and shows no signs of slowing down. While there are many blogs dedicated to growing and marketing your portrait business, there are very few resources dedicated to the professional or aspiring professional pet photographer. I am happy to share the resources that I have discovered and I would love to hear from you. Kira DeDecker Photography Session Spotlight

Please welcome Kira from Kira DeDecker Photography, based in Glendale, Arizona for today’s Session Spotlight!

There aren’t and words or descriptions that could do the amazing Kitsune justice…but I’ll try anyway.  Kitsune (which means Fox is Japanese) is a Shiba Inu who loves playing, running and anything that involves food! She was incredibly photogenic the day of our session, striking poses left and right – as long as treats or toys were involved anyways. This girl was no slouch, she knows not only how to sit but also stay and jump – she was a photogs dream to work with!  We started the day at Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza, near the beautiful flowers and ended the session in a huge green patch of grass where Kitsune showed off her fetch skills.

 

Kira DeDecker is an on-location + studio, natural light pet photographer specializing in cats, dogs and other four legged creatures.
